So far I am trying to announce only releases, which have either significant value added or contain a fix for a major bug. I do not bother users with minor improvements, which have only negligible impact on quality (but I like to be already available with the new downloads). I am afraid that a message every week might cause the users would ignore them after a while.
I prepare some sort of a helper script, which would need only a simple user confirmation for replacing the outdated indicator with a fresh one, because repeating the update procedure is a bit annoying.
